**Sarah Cocco, University of Southern California**

At USC: Sarah Cocco will begin her second season as a cross country runner for USC after posting one of the finest freshmen seasons in school history...2007: She burst onto the scene by winning her collegiate debut at the Aztec Invitational in come-from-behind fashion with a time of 17:43, the best 5K time by a Trojan since 1998...She showed that was no fluke by winning the Pepperdine Invitational with a school-record 6K time of 20:00.0...She did not run again until the Pac-10 Championships on Oct. 27 where she placed 11th with a time of 20:30.9...It was the best finish by a Trojan since Iryna Vashchuk finished 10th in 2004...Cocco then placed 18th at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 20:57.25 and helped lead USC to its lowest point total at the Regional since 1998...Cocco was one of four freshman out of the 38 at-large selections for the NCAA Championships, but she did not compete...She was the first Trojan freshman to be selected for the NCAA Championships and sixth USC female ever.

At MU: Runs hurdles, currently a Freshman. Earned three varsity letters in both track & field and football at Monarch High School in Colorado … coached on the track by Kent Reider … clocked personal bests of 56.83 in the 400-meter hurdles, 39.40 in the 300-meter hurdles, 23.46 in the 200-meter dash , 11.43 in the 100-meter dash and 50.92 in the 400-meter dash … 300m hurdles time is a school record … won Colorado 5A state titles in the 4x100m, 4x200m and 4x400m relays, as well as 300m hurdles final three of four years at Monarch High … earned Second-Team All-Front Range Conference in the 300m hurdles twice … played safety in football … named honorable mention academic all-state as a senior in both sports.

At VU: Currently a Junior from Niwot, CO. Attended Niwot High School. Personal record for the 400 meter outdoor is 58.56. Competed in the 800 meter event in 2011, clocking in with a time of 2:36.31 at the Vanderbilt Invitational.

NCAA Qualifier in both the 200m and the long jump and placed 31st in the long jump (7.24m) and 44th in the 200m (21.82) at the NCAA West Prelims in Austin, Texas ... won the long jump (7.49m{w}), the high jump (1.86m), the 4x100m (41.72), placed second in the 4x400m (3:17.51), third in the 100m hurdles (15.09), fourth in the 200m (22.19w) and seventh in the 100m (10.98w) at the GWC Outdoor Championships ... won the decathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays with 6973 points and at the SDSU Aztec Invitational (6474) ... helped set the school record in the 4x100m relay as his relay team won the race at the UVU Collegiate in 40.78 seconds.

At WU: 2012-13 (Track): A very strong outdoor track season, as she missed her first NCAA Outdoor Championships appearance by just one spot, finishing 13th in the NCAA West Prelims quarterfinals at 1,500-meters … at West Prelims in Austin, she clocked a career-best time of 4:20.88 in the 1,500m after advancing through the first round with a 4:22.77 … just missed the 1,500m final at Pac-12s, taking 14th in the prelims in 4:30.01 … ran an 800-meters personal-best of 2:08.36 at the Pepsi Team Invitational for a fifth-place finish … second in the 800m at the UW-WSU Dual in 2:10.77 … ran the 1,500m at the Mt. SAC Relays in 4:23.13, a time that got her to West Prelims … redshirted the indoor season and did not compete unattached … picked up USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors … also a Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team selection ...
